A while back gaiaonline.com was having an event which was essentially a pie eating contest between all (or at least most) of their NPCs. The NPC I was rooting for got knocked out in the first round. Come the second round (which is what this is based from) I decided to root for my second favourite NPC(s) the pair of Ian (actually part vampire but kinda not anymore, long story) and Rufus (a talking cat). The way things worked was that each NPC in the latest round would have a turn to eat. It was up to the various users to cheer or boo for the NPCs. In order to be able to do so they had to make posts in a certain area of the forums specially made for the event. Each NPC had a ready pose, eating pose, failure pose, and success pose. The NPC whos turn it was would be in the eating pose, the NPC whos turn had just ended would be in a success or failure pose depending on the outcome of the cheers and boos, and everyone else would be in a ready pose. It took me a while but I was able to screencap instances of each of the characters (except for Ian&Rufus of course) in failure poses and Ian&Rufus in a victory pose. I used paint (yes I did this in paint and not photoshop so you can't say it was photoshopped) to splice together all the images into one singel image. I also got rid of some timers that would keep track of how long before each NPC would be next up. Each one had a timer at all times so I had to do some actual editing work there. Same goes for where the deer and the big green thing (Carl and Diedrich respectively) overlap. It shows there too, any overlapping there isn't quite as smooth. But as it turns out, I was predicting the future because Ian&Rufus actually went on to win the whole thing. Gaia then released an image pretty much exactly like mine except it was obviously more professionally done.
